Joanne Ho’s music is bright, silken, and still. Interwoven textures hang in the air while Joanne’s experience as a violinist colors melodies that shift in and out of view. The influence of Buddhism informs larger forms, and time progresses through her music in introspective, almost ceremonial fashion. An avid sailor, Joanne’s tendency is to introduce new musical ideas like waves, always lapping away, coming in and out of earshot. Her incredibly diverse professional background (including but not limited to ecosystem sciences, economics, and mental health) has led her to explore many distinct paths of life–but among that constant sea of change, her love for creating music that bridges between worlds has never ceased.
